I have created the browse function of the media player which returns a node list included all container and item nodes, but the parser is aborted when it read some Japanese XML result of the browse action.

TOPPERS : They released all source codes for ITRON 4.0, TOPPERS/FI4. They released a kernel of OSEK/VDX for automotive electronics too.

AIBO SDE : Sony released the new SDK for AIBO.

Turbo Media Player : Tubolinux released a new media player that can play WMF, Windows Media Format. The decorder library for WMF is licenced from Microsoft.

I am creating some basic function for MediaPlayer using CyberLink C++, I could get the directory contents from Sony's Cocoon and Intel's media server. However I find many bugs about the control point. The bugs are fixed, but I should check the source codes all.

VideoLAN : I get the latest source codes on Linux, and I could compile the client viewer and play the movie contents from my Cocoon over HTTP. I read their cording style.

Subversion : I used CVS for my projects at work, but I installed the client on Windows and upgraded to the latest packages on Linux for open source projects such as VideoLAN.

NAS-A1 : Sony released a new netoworked audio system which has a 40GB HDD and can download the music contents form Internet. It may support UPnP A/V because it can play music files on PCs using VAIO Media.

Visual C++ Toolkit 2003 : I installed the compiler, but it has no debugger. Using WinDBG and SFU, I might build a development console like Cygwin.

Turing Award : Alan Kay will receive the award.

I could run the media server of C++ version and it was discovered from other media player. I am creating the simple plugins such as MPEG and JPEG, I will fix the user file format of XML to load and save the content directories.

VideoLAN : Using the client, I could see the movie contents over HTTP in my Cocoon CSV-EX9. I would like to add the search functions for UPnP Media Servers.

WinMyth : I installed it, but it was aborted when I connected to a MythTV server. However it is a good project.

DVD-WOO : Hitachi released not the OEM products but their own DVD and HDD recorders. The MS-DS400 has a 400GB HDD, but it has no network interfaces. They has been released D-VHS recorders instead of the DVD and HDD recorders to consumer markets in Japan. I have the D-VHS recorder, DT-DR3000, but I wonder if they continues the product.

Blu-ray Paper Disc : TOPPAN and Sony announced the successful development of a 25GB paper disc for Blue-ray.

I found a used HM-HDS3, Victor's HDD and S-VHS recorder, at a neighborhood recycle shop about $220. It has only 40GB HDD, but the user interface is good. I bought and installed it for my sister.

I have almost finished the porting of CyberMediaGate from Java to C++, and I have to check the implementation. I will make the sample only using WIN32 API without MFC in order to keep the simple.

NV-XYZ77 : Sony will release a Linux based car navigation system. It has a 30GB HDD and a USB 2.0 connector, you can remove it from car and transfer your movie and autio contents to it.

DVD-S37 : Panasonic will release the DVD player that supports HighMAT.

iVDR Micro : The iVDR is a Japanese consortium of removable hard dirk drive from AV to PC devices. The iVDR Micro is the removable disk using 1 inch HDD, and the PC adaptor is released.

CE Linux : Lineo contributes two Linux kernels for SH7303, SH-Mobile, and SH7760 to CE Linux Forum.

2700G : Intel announced new multimedia chip with new XScale chip, PXA27x. The performance is 940,000 polys per sec, and It will support OpenGL ES.

V401T : Toshiba released the new mobile phone. It can see and record the analog television broadcasting.

PSX : It seems that Sony has stopped the production because the sales is no good.

Intel Authoring Tools for UPnP (Build1545) : Intel updated their authoring tools, and the license was changed to use the source codes without any fee. It has the following UPnP stacks. The C# Stack is distributed with the all source codes, and it is very similar to tha Java Stack.

The following interested device descriptions are included too.

DigiMatrix : It is released at $600 in Japan. It seem that the remote control doesn't work on Linux yet.

Matsushita Electric joined UPnP forum steering committee. I hope that theier digital recorders such as DIGA will support UPnP AV as soon as possible.

MobleIPG : Opera announced the solution that enables to set the recording program using mobile phones.


Windows 5.0 CE : The technology preview is available. It will include support for Direct3D Mobile to run as fast as desktop machines.

IBM's WebSphere Micro Environment : It is available on ARM based Palme devices such as Tero600 to run J2ME applications.

KURO-BOX : The source code is distributed. It is a PowerPC based embedded Linux box.

Thunder K8QS : It is new Opteron based quad mathorboard.
