I have added some plugins to my implementation of UPnP Media Server such as ID3v2, JPEG, GIF and PNG. I would like to add MPEG plugins, but I can't find the good header infomation yet. Do someone know the good site? I want to release the package as soon as possible when I will finish the minimum implementation to know the needs, and I consider the package name .....

About CyberX3D, I have a strange problem of reading VRML PROTOs that are created using Pro/ENGINEER. I seem that the parser is repeated the processing infinitely X-<

Microsoft announced Windows Media Connect and Symphony to enable seamless media transfer between Windows XP-Based PCs and consumer electronics devices at the 2004 CES. In Japan, Toshiba and Sony are announcing their support for Windows Media Connect in future versions of their products such as RoomLink.

According to Microsoft, Windows Media Connect supports interoperability standards such as UPnP and HTTP, and is planned to conform to the guidelines under development by the DHWG, Digital Home Working Group. I seem that Windows Media Connect is based on UPnP AV because the media management and cotrol of DHWG are realized using UPnP AV.

Matsushita released ShigmaBook that is a new electronic book as a Panasonic brand. It has two XGA LCD displays, 1024 x 768 pixels, can get the contents from internet.

In addition to input and output components of general selectors, Cyber System AV Selector PRO has Ethenet selector for online games of consumer game machines such as PS2 and XBox.

Be Silent is new fanless barebone kit with the big heatshik. The design is cool like PSX :-)

I started to implement UPnP Media Server using CyberLink for Java from last week. I am creating the Content directory, and I have succeeded in recognition using Intel's AV Media Controller for the moment. I have added the plugin interface for the media items such as MP3 and JPEG, but I want to change the interface finally.

LF-X1 supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g, and it will can receive MPEG-4 streaming video from PSX and DVD-HDD recorders of Sony sometime soon. Sony have unified the recorder development department like PS-X, Cocoon and Blue-Ray DVD recorders. I hope that many Sony devices will support UPnP Media Server and Player specifications.

Source Code Distribution Service is prepared for the people who are interested in Sony products with Linux embedded Technology. However the UPnP SDK, SONY NSC SDK (UPnP Core)/1.3.4, is not distributed :-)

MOBILE HACKERZ have released a client software for Cocoon. It can download the movie contents using the UPnP Media Server functions.

Entertainment PC is a new form factor for home entertainment. Many Windows Media based devices will be released in this year such as the Entertainment PC, Xbox Media Center Extender Kit and Windows Media Center Extender. I would like to get the case and the motherboard without WindowsXP to create my original recorders.

GV-D1VR has a D1 input, and it can record digital outputs directly.

OpenPVS is a localized video recorder based on MythTV in Japan. They add some hardware changes to ASUS's bareborn like the remote control receiving board.

etBIOS based motherboard is released in Japan. The etBIOS can play DVD video and MP3 audio without operating systems.

I have renewed my home HDD recorder from Victor HM-HD1 to Cocoon CSV-EX9 at the end of last year. However, it wasn't as good as I thought. The Cocoon is hard to use because of lacking of some functions such as recording using G-code, double speed play, auto cutting commercials and EPG bugs of satellite broadcasting etc X-<

I have upgraded the Cocoon to support UPnP media server functions, and I am checking the implementations. I seem that the content directory implementation is very simple because the content directory has only a object container.

DarWIN supports some netwok standards for home networking such as UPnP and ECHONET. iReady is a small and common adaptor of ECHONET devices to connect home appliances and computers. HomePlugAV is faster than ECHONET as home powerline networking.

Hi-MD : I use mainly NetMD based on ATRAC3 for my audio systems. The media is cheep, about $7, as a 1GB stroage media, but I wonder if I will renew because I know that Sony couldn't diffuse MD-DATA and MD-DATA2 ....
