VLC : I wanted to check a problem of UPnP patch using CyberLink for C++ on MacOSX, and I got the latest source codes from the SVN server. However I knew that the current or future version seems accept the new patch based on Intel UPnP SDK as default. I would like to check a problem based on the CyberLink, but I have lost the mind today X-<

upnp_cc has always been disabled as a default, so the way to get it built and installed has not changed :-) I think VLC developers only set upnp_intel to "auto" because it is available in Linux distributions (at least in Debian).
libupnp doesn't even work out of the box on anything but Linux, so the upnp_intel plugin isn't any use to Mac and Win users right now. Also development of libupnp is dead since 2003, so unless VLC maintainers want to port and maintain a libupnp branch, upnp_cc may become the default, at least on Mac and Win :-)
The main reason I wrote the upnp_intel plugin is because I wanted to get event subscriptions to work. Turns out the media servers I'm using (TwonkyVision and ushare) don't even post events ;-)
cheers,
Christian

Hi Christian,
I was relieved to hear your stance about the UPnP/AV extention. I will start to check the UPnP/AV function more robust such as NMPR or DLNA specification, and release the new player function and media server.
About the subscription, you are right that you want to subscribe the ContentDirectory service to know the update because UPnP/AV media server such as DLNA media server must update the SystemUpdateID value when the content list is modified.
Thanks for your comment :-)

Well done!
